FND Sentinel Support
Keep check-ins, moments worth remembering, events, and your own care plan together. Sprout offers a simple watch experience; Today, Journal, Patterns, and Care organize the story on the phone.
How someone feels matters more than a reading. The app is not a reliable predictor or emergency monitor. Follow the care plan agreed with clinicians and seek emergency help when someone may be in danger.
Getting started
- Open the iPhone app and choose Let’s make it yours. Enter an optional name and review the app’s limits.
- Choose Start with my journal to use check-ins and your care plan without Health access, or Connect Apple Health & start to review permissions.
- To explore first, select Explore a sample family on the welcome screen. A sample banner stays visible; Exit restores the personal profile.
- Open Settings with the circular controls button at the top right of Today. Privacy and Support links are in About.
Devices and the watch
The phone app requires iOS 17 or later; the watch app requires watchOS 10 or later. The watch can gather available Health records and save notes without the iPhone app connected. Offloading uses the normally paired iPhone and Apple Watch; a remote caregiver account and Apple Watch Family Setup are not supported. Keep both apps updated for confirmed delivery.
- Tap Sprout to change its pose. The character and scenery do not indicate health or safety.
- I feel funny saves a warning marker on the watch.
- Swipe up for helpers. Something happened asks what happened, how big it felt, and when. Save my note saves locally before confirming success.
- Start check begins a live heart-rate session on the watch; Stop check ends it. The workout-style session is discarded and not saved to Fitness. A live check uses battery and can be interrupted by watchOS, another workout, or power loss.
- A saved note is not proof that a caregiver has seen it. Tell a grown-up directly when help is needed.
Offline data and reconnecting
Readings and notes wait in a protected watch queue. The phone saves a copy before sending a receipt; interrupted delivery retries with stable identifiers to prevent duplicates. Apple schedules transfer in the background when the devices can communicate. The phone app does not need to stay open.
If data is waiting, make sure both apps are updated, the devices are charged and unlocked, and Bluetooth or Wi-Fi communication is available. Open each app once after an update. If the phone app was force-quit, reopen it, then pull down on Today to refresh. If phone history is locked or a save fails, the transfer inbox retains its copy until import can finish. Check available storage if either app reports a save problem.
Other Health measurements are not continuous. Their availability depends on watchOS, hardware, region, permissions, movement, and measurement schedules. Revoking permissions stops access to those Health types but does not erase saved records. The app’s new Health collector copies additions; it does not mirror HealthKit deletions.
Journal, patterns, and care
Add energy, comfort, context, and highlights through Check in. Use Log event for an episode, near miss, or warning sign. Open a Journal entry to review or edit it. Patterns summarizes recorded observations with explicit counts; a missing entry means unknown, not a symptom-free day.
In Care, write the support steps and emergency instructions agreed with your care team, personal preferences, a trusted contact, and appointment questions. Support now displays your saved plan. Contacts are stored locally and receive no automatic messages.
Alerts and model details
New installations start with experimental alerts and haptics off; existing preferences remain. Settings controls sensitivity and confirmation behavior. The 0–100 index is not an episode probability. Historical fit uses the training history and is not prospective accuracy. Read Method and limitations.
Sharing and keeping a copy
In Care, choose Preview visit summary, read the complete 14-day report, and use Share this summary only when ready. CSV export is in Settings. App records are marked for exclusion from device backups, so keep a user-created export before replacing or erasing a device. Shared copies are controlled by the destination you select.
Deleting records
Open a Journal entry to delete it, or use Settings → Delete all data for the phone’s records and pending transfer inbox. This does not erase Apple Health or the watch’s saved backlog. Watch records may sync later; uninstalling both apps removes their local containers, subject to Apple backup and restore behavior.
Privacy
Read the Privacy Policy for the complete explanation of local storage, queued transfers, backups, exports, and controls.
